Founded in 1978 by the San Diego Christian Foundation, Southwestern Christian School has been offering quality Christian education to San Diego and Chula Vista families for 30 years. The Foundation is a non-profit California corporation and is composed primarily of members of the Churches of Christ throughout San Diego County. Our school is located in beautiful Chula Vista, just a few miles south of downtown San Diego. Southwestern Christian School is an private, elementary school serving Kindergarten through Sixth Grade students. 

 The SDCF purposes for elementary schools are to provide a high quality, complete educational system offering children academic, social, emotional, physical and spiritual disciplines. Christian principles will permeate and dominate all aspects of the students’ learning experience.

 The school supports the goals of Christian families desiring an atmosphere of order and respect that upholds God as Lord, and the sanctity of the home as the primary building block of society. We reach our objectives through daily Bible classes, daily prayer, and weekly chapel. The ABeka curriculum forms the backbone of the school’s academic core and also supports the concept of God as the source of truth. In addition to providing the highest academic standards, we supplement the core curriculum with enrichment classes in computer lab, physical education, and music. SWCS meets all state mandated subject matter requirements. All the professional teaching staff at Southwestern Christian School possesses a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. 

 Southwestern Christian School is a long-standing member of Association of Christian Schools, International, ACSI, and participates in many inter-school competitions.
