Everyday Mathematics (new adoption for 2011-2012)

Everyday Mathematics (K-5th) is a comprehensive mathematics curriculum developed by the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project. The program is distinguished by its focus on real-life problem solving, balance between whole-class and self-directed learning, emphasis on communication, facilitation of school-family cooperation, and appropriate use of technology.

Underlying the EM curriculum are six strands of knowledge: Algebra; Data and Chance; Geometry; Measurement; Numeration and Order; Patterns, Functions, and Sequences; Operations; and Reference Frames. At each grade level, learning targets are identified for each of the six strands.

Being a Writer

The Being a Writer™ program is a yearlong writing curriculum for grades K–6 that combines two decades of research in the areas of writing, motivation, and learning theory with social and ethical development.

The program has two goals: to develop the creativity and skills of a writer, and to develop the social and ethical values of a responsible person. It uses trade books for genre immersion and author studies. It integrates writing instruction with regular community-building elements and guided partner work that develops in students a sense of autonomy, belonging, and competence.

American Christian Tours Washington, D.C. Trip

Every year, our 6th grade students have the amazing opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. for a week full education and fun as they discover the historical roots of our nation's capitol.

We encourage both students and parents to attend this trip, however it is completely optional.  The trip cost typically ranges form $1900-$2000 per person which includes air transportations, lodging, meals, and the tour itself.

We have established a special savings program that will allow you to make payments toward the Washington, D.C. trip regardless of what grade your child is currently enrolled.
